The Truly Namasté Story
Grace learned, at an early age, that essential oils possessed very unique and special qualities. As a teenager she started experimenting with Patchouli. A few years later, while working with Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) Leaf, she discovered that it helped to heal burns and abrasions and also helped fight infections. This really piqued her interest in the healing properties of essential oils. She began to look for as much information as she could find on the subject. Through reading and talking to Aroma Therapists she also started to discover that essential oils could produce a calming effect on the mind and body.
Along the way, Grace started to practice yoga. By the mid 80’s, yoga was an integral part of her life. By 2000, she was teaching yoga. She opened Lights of Yoga, a yoga products shop and studio. By now Grace understood the value of essential oils and aroma therapy and their function in integrative medicine. In her yoga studio, she used aroma therapeutic candles made by a friend who is also a talented essential oil expert. Her students noticed immediately. They loved the way the studio always smelled and raved about the aroma as well as the calming affect it had on them. Grace noticed that no matter how frazzled a student might be when they arrived for class, as soon as they stepped into the studio, their tension seemed to drain away and peacefulness set in. At the urging of the friend who supplied the candles, Grace started to work on a signature scent for her studio and shop.
Through much meditation and countless experiments, Grace developed her first essential oil blend, Yogini. She first used it in a soap and started to sell it, along with the other yoga products, in her shop. The response from her students and customers was overwhelming. They couldn’t get enough. Grace’s customers loved the Yogini aroma and the calming effect it had on the mind and body. They begged her for a Yogini body lotion and, also requested she make a blend that could energize and invigorate. Soon after, the energizing essential oil blend Sun Salutation was born and was also used in a soap and sold in the yoga shop. Encouraged by all the positive feedback, Grace went back to the drawing board and continued experimenting.
About a year later, Grace created her first body lotion that was vegetarian and vegan friendly. Although the feedback was very positive, Grace was not satisfied. She continued to experiment and discovered that with the addition of Shea and Mango Butter the product improved tremendously. She then significantly increased the amounts of Shea and Mango Butter and finally discovered the perfect vehicle for her essential oil blends. The Beauty Butter product line was born.
Her family, friends, and clients enthusiastically embraced the Yogini Beauty Butter formulation. She then expanded the natural skin care product line to include the Sun Salutation, Pyramid, and Skin-Ease blends and Lavender. Many of her customers told her that it was the best lotion they had ever used and would use nothing else. Her customer base and sales grew steadily. But, Grace was still not satisfied. She felt there was still room for improvement.
Inspired by her brother who was battling cancer and was getting ready to begin 7 weeks of radiation treatments, Grace decided to take out the water used in making Beauty Butter and replace it with distilled Aloe Vera juice. Aloe Vera is a known burn remedy and even a low dose of radiation on a daily basis causes the skin to burn. She noticed immediately that the product was smoother, silkier, and was absorbed more quickly into the skin. Her brother was open to trying integrative medicine and applied the Skin-Ease Beauty Butter after every radiation treatment, once in the afternoon and again before bedtime. Her brother never showed symptoms of radiation until his fourth week of treatment, and even then, he said his skin would cool instantly after applying the Skin-Ease Beauty Butter. The doctors and technicians were impressed. Today, our Beauty Butter line is available in the aroma therapeutic essential oil blends Yogini and Skin-Ease, aroma therapeutic Lavender and with no essential oil, Untouched. The Beauty Butter formulation is the same for all of them and includes Aloe Vera juice, Shea butter, and Mango butter as well as other wonderfully soothing, skin nurturing ingredients .
Along with Beauty Butter, the Truly Namasté natural skin care product line includes soaps, bath gels, salt scrubs, the Balance Facial Cleansing System, and Age With Grace - Anti Aging Products.
Essential Oils, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Mango Butter all do wonderfully amazing things for the skin. We have taken all of these ingredients and created an elegant delivery system to bring them to your skin. We invite you to try all of our fabulous products. YOGA CLASS SCHEDULE classes run in 6 week sessions (one class a week for 6 weeks) and are $60.00 a session. If you would like to drop in to try a class before committing to a 6 week session the drop in fee is $15.00. Please call ahead to check for space availability before dropping in.

About Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera contains 27 natural vitamins, trace minerals, amino acids and natural enzymes that are essential for life. The stabilization process I use, is referred to as a cold process, to lock in the amazing nutrients that Aloe Vera has to offer mankind. Some other producers of Aloe use processes involving heat that burn off the good beneficial properties that are found in natural Aloe Vera and destroy most of the natural occuring enzymes and radically change the trace minerals and vitamins. Because of the high content of minerals (Iron, Manganese, Copper) found in our Aloe Vera after a few weeks or about a month the color will change into a light amber. This process does not inhibit the performance of our certified organically grown Aloe Vera. You will still achieve an excellent feel, tone, nourished and replenished skin , while enjoying the youthful benefits of the greatest Aloe Vera on the market.
