Q. What are Essential Oils?
A. Essential oils are powerful, natural, volatile liquids obtained from flowers, stems, grasses, fruits, trees, roots and leaves of plants.
The part of the plant used depends on the oils being extracted. For instance, Jasmine essential oil is extracted from Jasmine blossoms. Essential oils are the life essence of the organism and are powerful healing agents. By their very nature, essential oils want to disperse and spread their healing vapors to bring well-being and vitality in and around whatever they come into contact with. These precious, complex, liquids are in harmony with people and nature and are truly holistic. In her book, The Complete Book o f Essential Oil & Aromatherapy, Valerie Ann Worwood says..."Manufacturers of cosmetics appreciate their (essential oils) cell-rejuvenating and beautifying properties, while the fragrance industry is more concerned with their delightful aroma and their mood and emotion-enhancing capacities." The properties of essential oils go well beyond beauty and mood enhancement. They are amazing holistic, healing tools that enhance the entire person and operate on the cellular, physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and aesthetic levels. They help create a sense of well-being for the person using them and for those around them. This is something that no synthesized fragrance oil, (scent manufactured in a lab with chemicals to imitate essential oil ), can ever do.

Q. What makes your Beauty Butter so thick and rich? Most lotions I've used are not so luxurious. I love it, but sometimes, as the jar begins to empty, I have to shake the jar a little to get the Beauty Butter to come up through the pump. Any suggestions?
A. Thank you. We're so glad you like our product. What makes the Beauty Butter so rich is the generous amounts of Shea Butter and Mango Butter we put into it. Yes, sometimes I have to shake the jar a little, too, to get the thick, creamy butter to pump up the pipe. Because of the Shea and Mango Butter, Beauty Butter will occasionally thicken a little in the jar after it is poured. We use so much Shea and Mango Butter because they are readily absorbed into the skin, do not feel greasy, are full of skin nurturing nutrients, and offer some sun protection. Our customers who live in extremely dry climates, like here in Arizona, love it's thick, creamy texture and wouldn't have it any other way. For those of you who live in climates that are a little more humid and who may prefer a lighter lotion, here is a suggestion. Your jar of Beauty Butter may be customized to fit your preference. Up to one and a half ounces of Aloe juice or purified water may be mixed into the Beauty Butter, a little at a time, until it reaches a consistency that is perfect for you. This makes the Beauty Butter a little lighter and also helps it move through the pump more easily. If you should decide to customize your Beauty Butter, we believe Aloe juice, because of it's healthful benefits and because that is what we use to make our Beauty Butter, should be your first choice. Aloe juice may be found at most health food stores. Purified water will also work.

Q. Do you make a cream for extremely dry skin?
A. We are considering formulating a skin cream for extremely dry skin, but most people find that our Beauty Butter is beneficial for even the driest skin. The Aloe juice, Shea and Mango Butters and other beauty oils penetrate deeply into the skin and seal in moisture. Beauty Butter may be customized to be even more emollient by mixing in a teaspoon of one of the beauty oils that are already in the Beauty Butter. The oils we recommend trying are Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Soy Oil, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, or Vitamin E. Oil. Olive oil may also be used.
